Video Step-by-Step Breakdown: Side Crow
While it might sound and look more challenging than regular crow pose, side crow is often the more accessible of the two to those who are newer to yoga.
Besides being an arm balance, side crow is a deep twist, so it’s important to warm up your spine and get moving. Then you can play with all sorts of ways into the pose: Use a block for extra height, use a blanket under your face (so you aren’t scared to faceplant!), and then try different variations.
Don’t forget to breathe and have fun! Like everything in yoga, this pose will come to you when you are ready for it—enjoy the process!
